2024 Streaming Trends, Fun Twitch Stats & 2 New Affiliates
Learn about streaming trends, see the most popular Twitch extensions and more!
This week’s newsletter is packed with goodies. We’ve got two new affiliates added to the Sponsorships page, a TL;DR on the 2024 state of live streaming, and some interesting stats from CommanderRoot’s Q1 report on Twitch streamers.
New Affiliates Added
We added two new affiliates to our Sponsorships page. PremiumBeat is one of them and we encourage you to check it out if you use their music services.
But this week we want to feature Fourthwall.
Fourthwall is an all-in-one brand building platform for creators. It’s the best way for creators to sell products online.
Launch your shop. Upload designs and sell high-quality retail products. They take care of production, shipping and support.
Build a website. Start with a theme and personalize it to match your brand identity without code.
Offer memberships. Earn recurring revenue and reward your community with exclusive content, perks and discounts.
Fourthwall is free. They only take fees based on the products you sell.
Fourthwall integrates with YouTube Shopping, Twitch, StreamElements and Streamlabs, Facebook and Instagram Shopping, members-only Discord servers, TikTok, and so much more.
And if you refer your friends to Fourthwall, you each get $10 once they've made 3 or more sales.
2024 State of Livestreaming
Last week, Stream Hatchet live streamed the State of Video Game Live Streaming and Creator Marketing.
It’s an hour long, kinda boring, and not worth watching since we took notes for you ;)
Platform Analysis
Twitch remains the leading platform for live streamers but faces competition more than ever.
YouTube is favored for its growth and advantages in content discovery.
Kick could be considered the third major platform but hasn’t yet established itself among viewers.
Creator Insights
Multiplatform streaming. Successful Twitch streamers are leveraging YouTube and TikTok to maximize audience reach.
Content trends are pushing towards authentic, engaging content over shock value to sustain viewership and attract brand partnerships.
Female streamers are seeing huge growth, with Twitch being the dominant platform (and potential growth on YouTube).
Game and Genre Trends
FPS viewership is in decline, suggesting market fatigue.
Action-Adventure and Sandbox games are popular with viewers and produce more engagement.
Mobile games are identified as a significant growth area, particularly in non-US markets.
Future Outlook
Language and Global Growth. Significant viewership increases in non-English streams, highlighting the global nature of live streaming.
Simulcasting. While beneficial, creators should be selective about platform choices based on performance and engagement.
CommanderRoot Quarterly Report

Hopefully you found this week’s newsletter helpful and fun. My intention is to continue experimenting with different sections that will benefit you.
